The Push for Circular Manufacturing
As global environmental regulations tighten, the demand for sustainable manufacturing has never been higher. At M/S RV Chumble, we are pioneering the use of RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) in our vacuum forming processes.
What is RPET?
RPET is created by recycling post-consumer plastic—primarily water bottles. The bottles are cleaned, shredded into flakes, and extruded back into flat thermoplastic sheets. These sheets can then be vacuum formed into new products.
- Carbon Footprint Reduction: Forming with RPET requires significantly less energy and produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to manufacturing virgin plastics from petrochemicals.
- Closed-Loop Capabilities: Our RPET packaging trays are 100% recyclable. Once they reach the end of their lifespan, they can be reground and extruded into new sheets again, keeping the material entirely out of landfills.
Performance Considerations
Modern RPET maintains excellent clarity and impact resistance, making it virtually indistinguishable from virgin PETG. It is primarily utilized in retail packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and lightweight protective dunnage where sustainability is a core brand value.
